Ride with a purpose!

On April 18 at Shadow Lake, Phil Keoghan, host of CBS’s The Amazing Race, invites 500 cyclists to join him for his ride out of Papillion as he rides across America.

May 30-31 (weekend after Memorial Day) is the Bike MS 150 from Omaha to Lincoln and back. There are many opportunities for a one day and a two day bike ride with an overnight stay and party in Lincoln. The ride is fully supported by the MS Society and it’s a fundraising event for multiple sclerosis. It’s a great cause and we’d love to see you join our event. We support anyone riding 25 to 150 miles… Cost is $50 + a fundraising requirement.

Tuesday night road rides will be starting out of Highgear Omaha this Tuesday at 6:00. This week there will be only one group going so we’ll ride at a pace the group sets for 1 1/2 – 1 3/4 hours.

In a few weeks we’ll have two groups going; Kevin will lead a fast group 18-19+ mph average and roughly 45 miles and Alice will be leading a second group with a 15-17 mph average and roughly 35 miles(to be determined). We may adjust start times back to 5:45 next week, I’ll post and e-mail. As daylight permits we’ll start at 6:00 again.

Trek Omaha has a fast group going on Wednesday nights led by Greg with a 18-19+ mph(depending on the group) average starting at 5:45 for the next couple weeks moving to 6:00 when the daylight permits. They will also have a second group with a 14-15 mph average starting out of there in a couple weeks or when Frank decides it’s warm enough to ride.

Too cold for you outside? Or maybe all those holiday snacks have added a bit to the ‘ole waist line? Then join us each week for our indoor cycling sessions. We have a full library of CTS training videos. Classes are held 3 days a week and are FREE when you bring your own indoor trainer. No trainer? No worries, you can rent one of our brand new, top of the line Cycleops Fluid2 trainers with riser block for $5 a session. If you plan on riding with us frequently, we can store your trainer during the week too. Free coffee and espresso are available so don’t let the winter chill hold you up.
